2018 Goal Setting!


Hello loves,

      I know most people say new year new me and new resolutions. Me personally I like to set goals for myself and work hard all year to accomplish them. I know I stick to old habits and most likely won’t change a lot in the new year but if I set certain goals that I can work towards I will better myself along the way. Today I will share with you my top 5 goals for 2018!

Finance – The most important is finance. I set a certain amount of money I want to save by the end of the year and calculate how much I have to set aside every paycheck to accomplish that. With baby girl coming soon in 2018 I have to budget for maternity leave, baby needs and hospital bills which I did not have to worry about before. I might not be able to save as much as I did the year before but any amount is better than none.

Education – My husband and I have worked very hard to obtain degrees to have good jobs, he is still in school working towards his masters and I would love to do the same. Being a nurse there is a vast opportunity for change but my ultimate goal is to work in Labor and Delivery and become a midwife. I hope I can begin that journey in 2018.

Growing the Blog – I would love to grow my audience and though I did double the number of followers in 2017 that is not enough. I hope that in 2018 I can reach a certain number of readers that I have in my head! I know I have to give it my all for this to happen. I must start by becoming more consistent in my writing, I am aiming for at least 2 posts a week. I hope baby girl allows for that to happen. I will also try my best to connect more with all of you on social media. Who knows I might be able to make this a business as many others have if I work hard enough!

Health – I really would like to start working out consistently once I am cleared after baby is born. I have never felt I needed to work out since I have such a small frame and my metabolism is so fast. During this pregnancy my body has suffered though, I have a lot of aches and pains and I have been short of breath. I do not know for a fact that things would be different had I worked out before becoming pregnant but I am sure it would have helped. We do not eat health at all in this house hold and I know we will not eat super healthy in 2018 but I can try right? I know that this baby will keep us on our toes so we have to be ready to keep up with her. I will set a realistic goal of 2 days a week and see how that works.

Personal hobby – Reading has always been a hobby of mine but i have stopped doing it and I do not know why. I plan to go back to it this year, not only because I love to learn but I know there are so many great books out there that can help me grow. I would love to read books on handling things as a busy mamma, becoming a better wife and a more positive person. I have a couple of books in mind and I will keep you updated as I read them. I do not plan to make this a task and stress myself over it so the pace might be slow but I will get it done.

These are some of the goals I plan to work on for this new year. I feel it is well-balanced and will help me achieve more in 2018 than I did in 2017. The year 2017 was an awesome year, the highlight being that we found out we were pregnant but I think 2018 is going to be even better. I can’t wait to hear what your New Year goals are and I hope this list motivates you to accomplish your goals this year!!
