Being a nurse, I do not wear makeup on most nights to work the reason being if I do I have to wear makeup for 12 hours straight. I receive a lot of questions regarding my makeup from coworkers (when I do wear makeup). The most asked questions are “what do you do to make your makeup last so long” and “your makeup always looks flawless, how”? There are many tricks that you can do to help your makeup last for long periods and remain flawless, in my opinion the most important is using a primer. I personally do not like the way makeup feels on my bare face, that is why primer is an awesome product to me. Makeup can be applied smoother and adds more time to your flawless look. You might need to retouch especially if you are like me and work long hours but not as much as you normally would. Primers can help with a smoother application of makeup, smoother look, longer lasting makeup, pore cover up, color correcting and face brighter.
Primers can be very expensive and there are many to pick from which can be overwhelming. I like to try new products so I love it when products have sample sizes to try them out before I commit and buy the full size. This is a great option to try out a product and see if it does what you want it to do. All of the primers I mentioned help with pore cover up because that is my biggest problem. You do not have to buy an expensive product for it to work. The e.l.f. primer I listed is a drugstore product and full size is $6, I have used it and it works great.
You are probably asking yourself how in the world do I use a primer? Good question!
- Wash your face
- Apply a moisturizer if you have dry skin (optional step)
- Apply your primer
That simple, you are ready for the rest of your makeup! Soon I will post other products and tips to help your makeup look flawless and last longer. I hope this post has helped, send me your questions and leave me your comments. Don’t forget to follow!
